Tooth whitening is one of the fastest and easiest ways to improve your smile and so give your confidence a boost.

It takes just 2-4 weeks and you’ll require three visits to the practice to complete the treatment.

On your first visit, the dentist will take an impression of your teeth, which will be sent to the laboratory. There they will create unique bleaching trays that fit your mouth exactly. These trays take about two weeks to make.

When your trays are ready, you will have your second appointment. There you will pick up the trays and some whitening gel, which you should then wear overnight for 14 nights in a row. Your dentist will also demonstrate how to use the system and take pre-treatment photographs of your teeth.

At your third and final appointment your dentist will review your progress, discuss with you if you may benefit from a further week or two of nightly applications and take the post-treatment photographs.

Some patients may experience some sensitivity, but this can be helped by the use of special toothpastes and usually resolves very soon after treatment. If you have veneers, crowns or white fillings these will not be whitened through any tooth whitening process, so please speak to your dentist before starting treatment as these may need to be replaced afterward if they no longer match your new smile!
